I've kept my hand in Web Development without really publicizing the service. Generally I’ll be working on a problem and someone will ask, “Do you know anyone that can build me a web site?” From there I employ a series of high pressure sales techniques that all are summed up in the incredibly crafty reply, “I build websites.” Luckily, those who know me tend to love me, otherwise, I fear all of my crafty high pressure sales techniques would fail.
Some of the Sites I’ve built include:
The PC Handyman
www.mypchandyman.net
If
you're reading this, you’ve seen the site. Intended to be light hearted
and simple to use, the site reflects my quirky personality and weird sense
of humor. I can’t say enough about the site, it’s like I was
in my own head when I was designing it.
Contempradance Center
www.contempradance.com
This
site for a dance studio in Wayne, PA was built in conjunction with a freelance
designer. The site is 70 pages and lists all of the classes and levels offered
at the studio. Prior to setting up the site, it would generally take 15
– 20 minutes on the phone with a new student to pick the right class.
Now many students go to the site, read the descriptions and register online
without speaking to a person.
With 60+ classes and frequent changes the schedule is the most dynamic area of the the site. Managed via a php/mysql admin site, edits are quick and easy.
RCJ Consulting
www.rcjconsulting.com
This
work in progress is quite possibly the nicest site to never go live. Originally
asked to complete the site in 5 weeks, I’m still waiting for content.
Until then there are some nice features including a google map and database
back-end for project listings. Until it goes live, I can give tours in person
only, call for a demo.
